Fiber Preparation
The key to any non-wood process is fiber preparation. This is a dry process that uses an equipment called Depither / Deduster wherein if the wheat/rice straw is lengthy, it is cut to the acceptable length of 40-50 mm. The fiber is then put into a bale breaker to be converted into loose bales and fed into the Depither via a pinfeeder that regulates the flow. Next, the fiber is separated from pith in the case of bagasse or dust in the case of wheat straw. The depithed or dedusted fiber is then sent to the next stage of the process. The pith or dust can be used as biofuel.
