Fiber Preparation

The key to any non-wood process is fiber preparation.  This is a dry process that uses an equipment called Depither / Deduster wherein:

  • If the wheat/rice straw is lengthy, it is cut to the acceptable length of 40-50 mm.

  • The fiber is put into a bale breaker to be converted into loose bales and fed into the Depither via a pinfeeder that regulates the flow.

  • The fiber is separated from pith in the case of bagasse or dust in the case of wheat straw.

  • The depithed or dedusted fiber is then sent to the next stage of the process.

  • The pith or dust can be used as biofuel.
