Fiber Preparation
The key to any non-wood process is fiber preparation. This is a dry process that uses an equipment called Depither / Deduster wherein:
-
If the wheat/rice straw is lengthy, it is cut to the acceptable length of 40-50 mm.
-
The fiber is put into a bale breaker to be converted into loose bales and fed into the Depither via a pinfeeder that regulates the flow.
-
The fiber is separated from pith in the case of bagasse or dust in the case of wheat straw.
-
The depithed or dedusted fiber is then sent to the next stage of the process.
-
The pith or dust can be used as biofuel.
